Morgan had stumbled through the forest, supporting Cal, trying to find his house. She couldn't believe what had happened. When she threw the athame, she didn't want to kill Hunter. She just wanted to stop him from hurting Cal. She didn't mean for him to fall over the cliff's edge and down to the rushing water that awaited at the bottom. It was an accident! But she couldn't think about it. The guilt was gnawing at her. What a thing to happen on her birthday.Morgan starts to get a weird vibe from Selene and Cal, especially when Selene starts asking about Mauve's tools. Morgan couldn't miss the tension Cal felt when Selene talked about the tools, and Morgan was happy that she followed Alyce advice and bound her mother's tools to her- now the tools were connected to Morgan. When Cal shows Morgan his private room, she feels overwhelmed. The room emanated dark power, and it felt suffocating to be there. For the first time, Morgan wasn't sure if she should trust Cal. What had he been doing in that room to make it feel so wrong? When Morgan find out that Hunter is alive, she couldn't be happier- even if he still annoyed her. She was surprised by her reaction to him, she felt truly happy that he was a live and well. She shrugged it off as just being relieved that she hadn't been responsible for his death. After scrying with Sky, Morgan discovers a hard truth that leaves her hurt and betrayed. When she leaves to confront Cal, she never expected the fatality that that choice might possess. Not until it was too late.Dark Magick is an intriguing and tantalizing novel. The chaos and struggles in Morgan's life as she copes with being a blood witch and trying to sort out the truths of her life are captivating. Cate Tiernan has created another magical novel that is enticing with the dangerous, powerful, and enchanting world of Morgan Rowlands.

Morgan is totally in love with Cal. But is Cal in love with Morgan, or her magic. And why are people gathering at Cal's house anyway. And why do they all want to meet Morgan? The plot thickens as Morgan tries to understand her conflicting feelings and the way people are treating her. Is she really one of the most powerful witches alive? Like I said, the plot thickens. This series just rocks. The characters are so real to me. Morgan has all the normal teen and family concerns, plus, you know, the witch thing. In a couple of the books she was really bitchy, but really, what 16 year is not? I can't wait to see where this story is going.

The fourth book in the 'Sweep' series, "Dark Magic." Morgan helps Cal reach his house then bandages his wounds. When he is all patched up morgan calls 911 to report the accident then send Sky a witch message telling her where she can find Hunter. Morgan learns her mother had a secret lover, Cirian, and thought she saw some one that looked like Hunter spying on her. Not knowing what to do and becoming overwhelmed by emotion Morgan ends up going to Practical Magick (an Occult store in her town) and who does she find sitting in a chair...no other but Hunter Nial. Morgan and Hunter connect minds and go through each others memory's. When it is all done with doubts about Selene and Cal begin to form. Later she learns, while scrying with Sky in the woods, that Selene and Cal were just using her. Morgan then goes to find Cal to get the truth. When she meets Cal he is trys to get her to go with him to his house to meet some other Woodbanes. When she refuses he casts a binding spell on her and forces her into his car. What does he do to her? Is she rescued? You will just have to read the book to find out.A book that play's at heart, making you think the whole time, "no something is going to happen. Cal wouldn't do this to Morgan." Even when it is obvious you do not want it to be true. Yet another page turner by Mrs. Tiernan. A quick and fabulous read. Mrs. Tiernan was able to write a book including Wicca and Witchcraft that I believe, whether you be Christian, Muslim, Jew, or Pagan, all can enjoy.

Morgan¿s relationship with Cal comes to a head in the fourth book in the series. I am enjoying the series, although I still don¿t like how the books just stop.
