I really love animals and I especially love dogs, so this book really struck with me. Darby, like any new puppy, loves to chew on everything and anything in his new home, and it frustrates his owners to their last straw and make Darby an outside dog. One day, the weather damages his new home with his family trapped inside. With time not on their sides, Darby reaches his family before the rescue team did. He saves the family and becomes the hero. This book shows the power and loyalty of dogs. Dogs are true companions for life and this book can really teach that to children.

Darby's family wants him to behave. He likes to chew on everything. The family's home slides off the cliff and is buried. Darby digs through and rescues them. At the end, everybody loves Darby. I liked how Darby did something really good for once.
