Vinyl LP(Long Playing Record)

If you had to credit one band with defining the hard-core movement of the early 1980s, it would have to be this Angeleno aggregation, which practically wrote the book of loud, fast rules. Black Flag picked up where the Ramones left off, cutting extraneous detail from songs, leaving them tightly wound, aggressive, and -- perhaps most importantly -- universally understood by pent-up fans around the world. This earliest incarnation of the band ricocheted from song to song at breakneck speed, riding the blinding riffing of guitarist Greg Ginn through angst-ridden anthems like "Depression" as well as suburban sneers like "TV Party" and "Six Pack." Recorded before the recruitment of Henry Rollins, the disc captures the band at its most adrenalized and, yes, dangerous. One of punk's milestones.
