Wow! Just pulled into NYC and got off the Angst train. Damn!! That was a crazy ride. This series was intense. Penn/Nat/Lewis/Katherine/Jane/Court….each of these crazy NY’s are what made this series a page turner. After the totally messed and hurtful ending from Cruel Fortune that left me on the edge of my seat and honestly broken hearted for Natalie, I knew she was going to lose her marbles. Oh she definitely lost it. I kinda loved this side of Nat. Revenge looked good on her. And she wore it with a pair of bangin’ stiletto’s!! But………….you’ve gotta watch, because there are always consequences. And that is when KA Linde brings her signature angst to the table. I love all of her series’, but this one totally rocks! Hot NYC rich snobs, who will bring you to your knees and make you want to either bash their heads in, or jump in bed in them! Penn……God I love him. But Nat takes the cake for me. That woman needed to have her last word. But at what cost? Lots of twists and turns, as always. One of Linde’s best!

KA never fails to give us that drop your jaw moment where you don't know if you want to keep going. It's one of the things I both love and dislike about her. I've been reading her since she first wrote the Avoiding series, way before it was even published, and I know I will never leave her! She may not always give us the ending we want, but she sure as hell knows how to tell a story! In this book, the last of the Cruel series, KA gives it all to us!! AND the ending WE WANTED!!! Surprise! HAHA! Revenge is a bittersweet pill....I'm going to miss this crew!! Or, will I?

Some may refer to KA Linde as the Queen of Angst and she is but we can add "the Queen of Cliffy's" now that this series has ended and she has ended it with a BANG. Natalie has seen her ups and downs throughout this series and she continues the rollercoaster in Cruel Legacy. The journey that Natalie and Penn have taken hasn't been an easy one.  Penn, the affluent, "has it all going for him" guy from the Upper East Side and Natalie from her humble beginnings have another path to take together.  I have often been on the fence about Penn, one minute I loved him and the next, not so much. But Natalie has been a heroine I have been cheering on from the beginning and she came into her own in Cruel Legacy and she was a badass...and she gave Penn a run for his money, as well as his Crew.  It was a delight to see Natalie show the Crew and the world what she's made of. The twists, the turns, the deceit, the lies - it all comes out in this angst-filled conclusion of the Cruel Series.  This book is KA Linde at her best!! One of my favorites for 2019.

Well, they say, if you can't beat them, join them. And that's exactly what Natalie Bishop's done. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of the fire ignited by the Upper East Siders, Natalie is not about to go down without a fight. And she knows just how to give them a fight that they will never forget. But in her quest for revenge, will Natalie lose herself? The Cruel series by author K.A. Linde is a study in the art of the game. Reading these books is like having a reality show on loop, with drama galore, and shenanigans that you just can't look away from. As Natalie evolved into the newest version of herself in this last book, I found myself wondering whether there would be the redemption that I was looking for, anything that made the Crew less monstrous than they appeared to be. The intrigue, the backstabbing, the non-stop drama had me waiting and wondering. Kyla keeps the reader guessing right up until the very end, with twist after turn after jaw-dropping revelation, and the build-up is both nerve wracking and delicious. In the end, she delivers with her usual flair, making both the climb up the rollercoaster and the sheer drop worth every single minute, giving the perfect wrap-up to this series.

So, so good! I couldn't wait to see how Natalie, Penn, Lewis, and The Crew's story played out with this last book. Without being too spoilery, I'll just say that I absolutely loved the revenge Natalie brought to the story. It felt so real and truly what someone who had been bullied and destroyed as she had would do. The growth and development of who they are as individuals and in their relationship was such a good story. Couldn't be happier with how things ended.

O. M. G. She saved the best for last!!! This journey with Natalie has been awesome but this ending was AMAZING! I cheered Natalie on through this whole book. There were a lot of 'OMG' moments thrown in with a lot of 'You Go Girl'! Seriously awesome trilogy and this was the icing on top!

Cruel Legacy is the third and final book in the Cruel trilogy, and it definitely delivered on the drama, angst, and drama (did I already say drama?). If you haven't read the first two books in this series, stop now and go read them before diving into this one. The story is driven by Natalie's thirst for revenge against the Upper East Siders/Crew, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't living for it all. She enlisted Penn to help her basically become like the people she hated so she could execute her plan, and the plotting and manipulation really take off early in the story. I believe I mentioned in my review for Cruel Fortune that I felt like I was bingeing a reality TV show, and that sentiment carried over for Cruel Legacy as well. I was sucked into Natalie and Penn's character arcs, both individually and as a couple, which made this a quick read for me. Penn was my favorite character, and I was happiest with his growth throughout the series. I don't like to get spoilery with the plot, but this story was steamy, scheme-y, and satisfying. Loyalties are tested, relationships are strengthened, and the cost of revenge to a person's character is explored. Overall, I was pleased with how things ended and enjoyed the story. Hats off to Linde for bringing another series to a solid conclusion!

I admittedly struggled with book two of the Cruel series. I didn’t understand why the characters made the choices they did, especially Natalie, and while I’m all for nasty people getting the ‘come up its’ they deserve, I wanted the focus to be more about the characters’ growth and the way they earned redemption, not just about all the ways revenge can be acquired. Needless to say, I was extremely hesitant to begin Cruel Legacy; I didn’t know the Natalie readers would reunite with in the final book in the trilogy because, once again, her life in New York imploded because of the duplicitous nature of the Crew of Upper East Siders. It’s clear at the start of book 3 that Natalie wants revenge; she wants the Crew, mainly Katherine and Lewis, to pay for the games they play with people’s lives. She wants them to understand that their actions have consequences, even if they never feel them because of the status and power they wield. As the story progresses, Natalie is no longer the small-town girl who wanted to make it in New York; she loses her innocence and she takes a lesson or ten out of the Upper East Siders’ cruel handbook and makes them face the repercussions of their lies and manipulation. Natalie’s determined to not let them win - to beat them at their own game, but in doing so, she loses who she is at her core, forgets the person she wanted to be, and almost sacrifices everything she loves because she refuses to allow the Crew to stay up on their pedestals; they need to fall and she wants to be the one to knock them down, but the question is, is it worth it based on what becomes of her and how those closest to her don’t quite see the woman they remember? The two main story lines in Cruel Legacy deal with Natalie getting her revenge and she and Penn re-establishing their connection/relationship, and while these things are occurring concurrently, Natalie is not the same person in the two situations, which means when these two plot lines intersect, it remains to be seen which one Natalie will have to sacrifice in order to reach the conclusion that she desperately wants. I have to say that I am glad I stuck with the trilogy until the end because I wanted to see how everything played out and if the resolution was something that both readers and Natalie and Penn could live with given the dynamics of Natalie’s relationship with Penn and the other Crew members at the start of Cruel Legacy. But while I understand why Natalie did the things she did, I truly don’t understand why Penn reacted the way he did when everything was revealed toward the end of the story; it seemed a bit hypocritical and it made me bitter toward him, and while conversations occur and explanations are given, it was difficult to get past some of the things said and done throughout the course of the story. Despite my issues with the actions and attitudes of the characters, the Cruel series definitely checks off all of the components of an angsty romance story, and readers who read and loved K.A. Linde’s Avoiding series will definitely enjoy this one. 3.5 Poison Apples

3.5 stars for - Cruel Legacy - book three in the Cruel series by K.A. Linde. This is technically the fourth book featuring these characters and they need to be read in order of release. This one picks up right after Natalie vows to make those who wronged her pay for all they’ve done. In true Upper East side fashion she does it in designer couture and rocking a pair of Louboutin heels. Natalie learned from the best how to play the game and they won’t know what hit them when she gets through with them. While I liked books one and two this one was not my favorite of the bunch and seemed to leave me wanting more for Nat and Pen as a couple. I’m guessing there will be more books for this series in the future therefore any questions pertaining to the Crew weren’t addressed at all. Yes, I would recommend the series but with the disclaimer that all your questions won’t be answered in the end.

I was so excited to read the conclusion of this series. Natalie was humiliated by the crew multiple times. She wants revenge, but at what cost? Who will get hurt? Will she get her revenge and not loose herself in the process?

Amazing conclusion to an amazing trilogy! Much like the first two books, this one is chock-full of twists and turns, secrets and angst, and all the feels. It’s intense and gripping and real and raw and I couldn’t put it down. Penn and Natalie’s journey wasn’t always easy or pretty, and both have changed and grown so much since the first book. I adore this couple and was rooting for them from the very first page. This series was unique and well-thought-out and, despite my reservations about the how the book would end, I was very pleased. This is a must read trilogy and a top read of the year for me.

(3.75-4 stars) Another great series by Ms. Linde put to rest. LEGACY was a bit slow going at the start but once it picked up pace, I didn’t want to out it down. Natalie and Penn have not had it easy and in this installment it’s no different. Natalie has been on a journey to fit in and she gets way more than she bargained for. Watching her get her revenge was both satisfying and heartbreaking as the repercussions blindsided her...and the reader. The epilogue was perfect. Just enough to quench my curiosity about the future. I am very much looking forward to Lark’s story next!

This was the perfect conclusion to the Cruel series. KA Linde does angst very well, and in this book she knocked it out of the park completely! It has everything: deceit, revenge, drama, and love. There are characters you fall in love with completely and characters you love to hate. After reading the previous books in the series, I had an idea of how I wanted to see Natalie get her revenge and this book did not disappoint. Fantastic ending to an amazing series.

This was a really good conclusion to the Cruel trilogy. I’m giving it 3.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. I wasn’t sure how this last book would play out after how the previous one ended. I liked this a lot more than I expected even though I knew Natalie was going to be different. The writing was too good not to enjoy. Once again, most of this was in Natalie’s POV; I didn’t mind that, but honestly it was refreshing being in Penn’s head. I would have liked even more from him. Some things surprised me, some things didn’t, and there were some things I thought would play out that never did. I liked Natalie and Penn overall, but they were more morally gray than I expected to find both main characters. One would be normal, but I don’t think I’ve read much, if anything, where both were in a book. I liked seeing Amy, Enzo, Natalie’s parents, etc. again. I don’t want to say much more since talking about the plot would be spoilery, but if you like drama and reading about the fabulously wealthy 1%, check these books out. The series was reminiscent of Gossip Girl, but a slightly more grown up version. I’m excited to see what this author publishes next!

The stunning conclusion to the Cruel Trilogy is finally here and it’s full of more deception and twists to keep you reading until the very end. K.A. Linde has undoubtedly outdone herself with Cruel Legacy, while taking the readers on a roller coaster ride that is the Upper East Side. Cruel Legacy picks up after Cruel Fortune lefts off and this time around Natalie is after vengeance. After the events that transpired in the previous book, she is ready to make everyone pay no matter the cost. She already had a taste of the glamours life in New York, and realizes that in order to get revenge she is going to need to venture into the darkness herself. Little did she know that her plan might end up hurting those she loves the most. In this particular story we get to see a bit of a different side of Natalie, she is still strong and determined. But she is also able to more independent as she mingles within the Upper East Side. She is more calculative than ever and she is able to work things to get advantage. While she has revenge in mind, Penn’s goal is to save Natalie from getting corrupted by the city. He is willing to do whatever it takes to prove to her that he is the one for her. But his loyalties with the crew are stronger than ever and he might just have to decide between the two in order to save his relationship. I completely loved reading this story, it was filled with twists and turns that I didn’t see coming at all. We get to learn more about the crew individually and how connected they really are. Truths come out and loyalties are questioned. What I loved the most was the chemistry between Natalie and Penn. It’s sizzling and passionate. Their moments together truly had me rooting for them and Penn is just so swoon worthy! Though the characters go through ups and downs, they are ready to face them together and that’s exactly what happens. I do wish the author could have elaborated on some things at the end, but nothing major. The story truly comes full circle as it ends where the first story started and I couldn’t contain my excitement until the very last page. I’m so excited that K.A. Linde has decided to write about the rest of the crew, and cannot wait to read what happens next. Highly recommend checking out this trilogy and any other books by the author. You will not regret it! :) **I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**

** 5 Cruel, Upper East Side Stars ** “I wasn’t slinking away into the shadows and letting the Upper East Side chew me up and spit me out. I was here to play” -Natalie Natalie is back where we left off in Cruel Fortune, and she is HERE. TO. PLAY. Wow, when I read that line, I was in. I couldn’t wait to see Natalie stand up for herself and teach these Upper East Siders that they weren’t untouchable. “Money couldn’t hide the sewage, and when I was done with them, money wouldn’t save them from it either.” I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so I will just say that I absolutely adored Natalie Cruel Legacy. She was everything I want in a strong heroine and I enjoyed every second of this story! This book is all about Natalie getting her sweet revenge.

4.5 stars--CRUEL LEGACY is the third and final instalment in K. A. Linde’s contemporary, adult CRUEL erotic, romance series focusing on thirty year old, philosophy professor Penn Kensington, and twenty-five year old writer Natalie Bishop. CRUEL LEGACY should not be read as a stand alone as is picks up immediately after the events of book two CRUEL FORTUNE. Told from dual first person perspectives (Penn and Natalie) and one chapter by Katherine CRUEL LEGACY is the culmination of 8 years of secrets, lies, and deception; and a game where revenge is ugly, and the fall-out even more so. Eight years earlier Natalie Bishop was a pawn in a game between the spoiled, uber rich kids of the Upper East Side. Fast forward seven years wherein Natalie would come face to face with the people that destroyed her life, intent on destroying their lives in return. But all did not go according to plan when our heroine was once again the victim of betrayal and vengeance by the same people who had broken her years before. One more year would pass and our heroine would come to terms with what happened, falling in love with one of the game players but a love that balanced precariously on the edge when vengeance set in to destroy them all. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Penn and Natalie, and the fall out as Natalie sets a plan into motion determined to seek vengeance against those who did her wrong. CRUEL LEGACY is a story of discrimination, deception, and retribution; of secrets, lies, antagonism and retaliation; ;of heart break, mistrust, misrepresentation and love. K. A. Linde pulls the reader into one woman’s battle to stay one step ahead, as the world continues to pull her down-one step forward, two steps back until the final fall-out wherein everyone will suffer when karma’s aim hits its’ mark. The premise is dramatic and intense ; the characters are tragic but energetic; the romance is passionate but built upon a foundation of mistrust, secrets and lies.

I devoured this sizzling conclusion to Natalie and Penn's story! Holy backstabbing Batman! I absolutely loved this conclusion, it was juicy and passionate. We see what has become of Natalie after the deception from the previous book. As much as I liked her in previous books because of her strength, there were times in Cruel Legacy that I was left breathless in how she dealt with the crew and the Upper East siders. She was powerful, and not someone I was anticipating her to be. This story was full of redemption, as well as sorrow. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic trilogy!

Utterly intriguing with rivalry, revenge and this being the final and third book in the series brings the story full circle! You must have read the first two books first as these are stories you must read in order! So much goes on and my heart was beating so hard, I just knew deep inside that something would happen, what, I had no idea but it all captured my attention that I finished it in one sitting! Talk about feeling like you were watching a tv show but the storyline grabbed me from beginning to end and when I finished I wondered....what on earth now? The author has penned a story that is gripping, full of steam and absolutely amazing as well as a brilliant conclusion to the Cruel series!

Cruel Legacy is the conclusion to Natalie - Penn Story in the Cruel Trilogy!! Every human has a good & shady side... In this book, we get to see the other side of Natalie. She is out for revenge after the way she has been wronged by Penn's friends... Penn has been waiting to win her back. And when Natalie gets back to NYC for her revenge, he is there by her side in every way... He helps her with the upper east side life not knowing she is seeking all the help to plot her revenge.. And the way their relationship grew was awesome... I loved the way Penn's character evolved in this book... He has come a long way from the person he was in the first book... And Natalie was a totally different person.. She was tough and bold and so blinded in her want for revenge... I was worried how the ending is gonna be with the revenge plot.. However, the author just got the perfect ending for this trilogy.. This book has the perfect amount of romance, angst, twist and turns... The writing was amazing and I cant wait for Lark's story from this world!!

A cruel twist of fate has been the playground for two battered hearts. Natalie and Penn have finally reached the end of the line, but which way will their story go? Cruel Legacy is not just a romance. It's a masterful mind game that grabs hold of your heart. The Cruel series is an addictive look at love in all of it's glory. From beautiful heartache to ugly obsession, Linde captivates, frustrates and navigates through an all consuming darkness that seems to have no end in sight.
