Overview

Told in engaging first person, Confessions of a Teenage Band Geek is not your average YA story. Drum set player Julia McCoy is not a typical marching band member. Forced to move across country and become a rookie as a junior, the newest tenor drummer deals with an intense Instructor, a cheerleader and the possibility of love in her own section.

This book was such a sweet book, yet on the flip side, had you aching to learn more. I could not put it down. Being in the high school band right now, I could identify students as each of the characters prominent in this book. You end up feeling a twister of emotions inside of you, anger, jealousy, happiness and sadness. But overall, kudos to the author because she did a great job. I know I can not wait to read her other books.

Im going to be a freshman this year, and i've been in our jh/hs band since 7th grade, and 6th grade band before that. I play the sax, i'm teaching myself the piano, trombone, and hopefully flute and the guitar. I also have a really good chance at being drum major for this coming marching season. I love to sing, and i usually get many solos. Im so glad that someone actually wrote a book for us band geeks!! Lol -14 yrs old

Get over your self and enjoy a book for once i am especielly ashamed at the band members who are hating i've been in band for two years and play better then almost all the highschoolers in the district so anyone who can play in a band, be it orchestra, or jazz,or marching and can play well can call themselves a band geek-GO CLARINETS
