About the Author

Born in 1873 in France, Colette was the author of many acclaimed novels noted for their intimate style. Other Colette titles from FSG include The Complete Claudine, The Vagabond, Chéri and The Last of Chéri, and Gigi, Julie de Carneilha, and Chance Acquaintances. She died in 1954.

I love these beautifully poetic stories from Colette, ranging from the Belle Epoch to her later life. I particularly like the theatre stories. Their deceptive simplicity leaves me breathless. Ah, if only my French was good enough to read this in the original.

not nearly as good as her other stuff. for a completist only, methinks. but not terrible either. just meh.
