This two-disc collection is designed to introduce the Andrews Sisters
to the post-grunge, neo-lounge crowd. Ironically, many in that target demographic knew about this 1940s supergroup by the time this disc was released in September of 2000, about when the swing revival started to slow down. However, this is a good selection of some of the best (and most upbeat) songs by the Andrews Sisters. Tracks like "Bei Mir Bist du Schön," "Oh Johnny, Oh Johnny, Oh!," and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" are absolute necessities while "Rum and Coca-Cola," "Strip Polka," and "Beer Barrel Polka (Roll Out the Barrel)" would make a fun party atmosphere. These discs offer a strong 28 tracks, and, more importantly, a concept which should facilitate new fans to discover one of America's greatest vocal groups. And why not have fun listening to the Andrews Sisters? A good and substantial introductory purchase.
