Overview

Billie (aka “Ducati”) is known as much for her extraordinary beauty as for the sexy yellow Ducati motorcycle she rides through the mean streets of Los Angeles. Tough, talented, and self-assured, Billie’s used to doing things her way—but that was before love threw an oil slick in the road and spun her life into chaos.

Billie’s first problem is simple: she’s pregnant.

Her second problem is that her lover, Keith, is still married.

Keith has some “things” to deal with, and the people in his life are dark and duplicitous enough to take matters into their own hands, determined to keep Billie from having her baby. Billie suddenly finds herself confronted, attacked, run off highways, threatened, and shadowed. Keith still has ties to his manipulative wife, Carmen, and he adores his fifteen-year-old daughter, Destiny. Will he do the right thing by his new family, or stand by his old one?

Soon all eyes shift as everyone finds themselves desperately chasing Destiny, a troubled and deceptive girl dancing on the edge of womanhood. When the rubber meets the road, all the madness with Billie, Carmen, and Keith comes to a head. Everyone’s fighting dirty for what they want…and they’re all willing to destroy their enemy or go down in flames to get it.

there was way way way to many details and not enough dialogue which is ridiculous......the ending SUCKED.....he did all that detail at the beginning to just rush the ending and barely explain wat went down with everyone!!!!!

This book had a very good storyline....however I found myself nodding off at the elaborate and drawn out descriptions of everything. He needed to get to the point. It took me a month to read this book and I usually finish books in no more than two days.

I usually can read a book in 2-3 days but this was a little drawn out... Too many minor details such as city streets and highways. He could've given more towards the character destiny. This book should've been named billie. I hated the way it ended.....

Really good book. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. I always had to know what was going to happen next. The ending was not what I had in mind, but it was nonetheless a really good book. The best that I have read in a really long time.

This was a good book. However, EJd has diverged from his original witty romance novel tone. This book was a cross between a terry woods novel and a Zane novel. The sensulality in his books has definitely progressed to almost erotica. Still love him though.

Was a fun light read, I finished it in one day. A little convoluted, the drama was a bit much. I kept thinking maybe he watches too many soap operas. However his sex scenes are hot! Which is always a great addition to the crappiest of books.

This novel was a nice departure from his previous novel "Genevieve," that I didn't favor. The overall plot of the book held my attention from the beginning to the end. However it had certain parts in it were the dialogue dragged on and it could have been edited and gotten more to the point. EJD does not soothe the writer and give them what they want, but instead, cleverly twists away from the norm creating a controversial tale. This book is similar to the movie "Crash", the movie that showed how several different lives crashed into one another over a day or two in Los Angeles by just a few degrees of separation! The creativity was in how he managed to link all of these people together.I love the way he incorporates current events like Hurricane Katrina and characters from previous books into his current works of fiction. The main character reads the billboard that's asking for information on the murderer of Lisa Wolf you instantly get a flashback to his novel "Drive me Crazy".The ending was a bit abrupt, but tied up nicely. This is certainly Dickey's redemption... he came back strong with "Chasing Destiny" and as always I look forward to more by him.

Chasing Destiny, is a story about finding love in all the wrong places. Looking for something to belong to and someone to share it with. The cover caught my eye, the story captured my soul. Truly one of my favorites!

I enjoyed this book. Some of the characters situations were just like a normal person life. It's a big step away from the money, sex, drugs, and murder books i read as a young teen. His books set my mind at ease. I felt the ending could have been better, he could've gave us a little more than what he did. But overall it was good to me.

The Deceit My favorite character is Destiny because she’s not your average 15 year old she runs away from her and meets two dudes who then has two more girls in the car who dislikes her and she fights them which causes her to drug her and has her raped when destiny awakes she seeks revenge on everyone who had something to do with it , while Destiny’s out causing trouble her father Keith trying to handle the divorce between destiny’s mom Carmen and Billie who has an unplanned pregnancy Chasing Destiny is an extraordinary and really captivating book to me it really is fulfilled with lots of drama and shocking surprises throughout the book, Revenge , Deceit , and Loyalty makes the climax of this book absolutely amazing !! I would say the novel is a best-seller with all the juicy drama coming from it

This was my first time reading a EJD book. I bought it months ago, read a chapter, put it down and then finally finished it in two days. I loved the suspense and drama. But I feel it was too much dialogue! I wanted him to get to the point in many conversations. Other then that I loved how it left you guessing and how all the characters were connected in one way or another. At the end I was left dumb-founded, felt like there needed to be a conclusion. Like if Viviane and Jacob seen the DVD and if Billie tooke Keith back for the upteenth time....??? Part 2 please....

This is favorire ejd book by far. It is intense and encapsulates the reader from the very first scene to the last very last word. The details make a story and this novel just keeps giving punch after punch after punch! Ive never felt so in the moment. My only critique is the book cover. Its super tacky and if it wasnt a ejd book I would have never picked it up.
