Every page of the book is wonderful. I loved Tom and he has replaced Hardy Cates as my favorite hero and that is very hard to do. The pace of the book, the delicious love scenes, and these two wonderful characters (Basil as well) are just delightful and i couldnt have loved this book more!

Delightful ending to a great series. I loved how we got to revisit some of the wallflowers characters. I can't wait to see what comes next.

I can see why Cassandra fell in love with Tom because I fell in love with him.

Cassandra's story seemed forced. It did not grab my attention like other books in the series. I love Lisa Klepas and will continue to read her stories voraciously.

This is the 6th entry in Kleypas’s wildly-popular Ravenels series, and loyal fans are eager to find out how ruthless and cold-hearted business tycoon and railroad magnate Tom Severin (a character in several books) will catch the final single Ravenel sister, Cassandra. Logical and brilliant Tom only allows himself a manageable five feelings, and non-existent love certainly isn’t one of them. So, how can he possibly convince Cassandra to agree to a marriage of convenience when she’s holding out for a love match? Although there is sizzling chemistry between the two from the start, it isn’t until her reputation is threatened by vicious gossip that the possibility of a happily-ever-after emerges. There’s no question why Kleypas is a reigning queen of sexy historical romances. In this beloved series (which features the next generation of her earlier series The Wallflowers), she has welcomed readers into the lives of a few close families who illustrate the changing social landscape of 19th-century England as financially-struggling aristocrats were forced to broker marriages with the affluent and increasing-powerful industrial class. She breathes life into her characters with intelligent and witty dialogue, striking a balance between romance and intrigue, and always leaves her fans wanting more. Let’s hope there’s a spin-off to this series! I received a complimentary ARC of this book from Avon Book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Five pages of descriptive love making unnecessary . Enjoyed the story otherwise.

Chasing Cassandra, by Lisa Klepas, became available at booksellers on 2-19-20. Cassandra is book 6 of 6 in Ms Kleypas The Ravenels series. I'm sorry to see this group of characters come to an end. I've been a fan of Ms Kleypas work since the day I read the first page of Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflower Series #1). I've been playing catch up with her body of work ever since. I rarely give out 5 stars but these characters drew me in & I became invested in their HEA. That's a 5 star story. I'm torn between the twins, Pandora & Cassandra, as to which story was the best. I'll just call it a tie. Tom Severin had an awful childhood but he had 1 advantage over others in his situation. His mind, it's a work of art. He's made his way in the world brilliantly & has all, he thinks, he's ever wanted. Until Cassandra appears, he's dumbstruck. I love how he asks "Can I have her?", like he's buying a horse. That's his mindset in the beginning. It's enjoyable to see him advance beyond 5 emotions to find happiness. Cassandra Ravenel wants love & will not settle. She wants Tom but with love thrown in. She leads Tom a merry chase & I'm so glad they find true love & happiness in the end. There's so much that I'd love to describe but won't spoil it for you. You'll have to become involved in our couples lives yourself. What's next? Who's next? More secondary characters? New characters? I'm on pins and needles. #LisaKleypas #Avon #HarperCollinsPublishers #ChasingCassandra #TheRavenels #Romance #HistoricalRomance

This is my first Lisa Kleypas novel and I absolutely loved this Regency Historical Romance. Chasing Cassandra is book #6 of the Ravenels series. Lady Casandra's story is the final story of this series. I enjoyed Lady Cassandra's character. She was everything pure, kind, and sweet. She only dreams of marrying for love to end up with her own happily ever after. She is domestic and full of beauty and grace. Cassandra has caught Tom Severin's eye. Tom Severin is quite the opposite of Cassandra. He is cold hearted, calculated and guarded. He is also brilliant and an extremely successful Railway Magnate. I loved Cassandra and Tom's story to complete this series. Kleypas delivered with great characters, and a great plot to get these characters discovering their attraction for each other. A standing ovation to Kleypas for this amazing series.

Not quite as much excitement as in some of her books but all the heartfelt romance is present. Ms. Kleypas is still my favorites author of all time!

Like a Harlequin romance. Very little history or plot. Man tells woman he can never love her only to find he can't live without her. No surprise here.

Tom Severin – how did Lisa Kleypas make me fall in love with Tom Severin? His redemption in this book was beautiful. A wonderful addition (ending?) to the Ravenel saga. Tom Severin, business magnate, and our heroine Cassandra meet at her sister Pandora’s wedding, and though sparks fly (literally, as they are welding a broken pipe), Tom resolves to not pursue her. She will only marry for love, and Tom believes himself incapable of that. There is a surprising amount of humor in this book, and I found myself laughing out loud often. Lisa Kleypas is a national treasure and this book was a delight.

4.5 I’ve been excitedly waiting for a year for Cassandra and Tom’s book! This is book 6 of The Ravenel’s and ends the series. I’d described this as a slow building love story. The first half was a little bit angsty but their story isn’t overwhelming with it. Tom is a very driven single-minded successful business man. He has friendships with the Ravenels but truly keeps everyone at arms length and avoids anything that evokes emotion. Cassandra is a gentle heart who wants to be loved, have a family and live a quiet life. Her upbringing was sheltered and unconventional which helps in her mission to break down Tom’s barriers since she isn’t overly controlled by societal rules as other women are. The character and personality traits of Cassandra and Tom are very well developed. His love for her was very evident in his thoughts and dialogue. Once she was able to start slowly thawing his heart, he opened up to her and said such lovely declarations. It was a beautiful love story. I enjoyed having the cameos of the other family members. Devon and West are such loving father/brother figures in this unconventional family. I read Kleypas’ Wallflower series as well and it was fun to hear tidbits about the offspring of Evie & Sebastian as well as Lillian & Marcus in this story. (I’d love for series to develop featuring the brood from those unions.) I enjoyed how Cassandra and Tom worked together and, in a very Tom-like fashion, built a mutually agreed upon future. I can’t explain it, I just wanted a bit more at the end, maybe it was the very sedate ending but I just wanted a bit more from them. Nonetheless, Tom and Cassandra had a beautiful HEA to cap off the series

A+ banter, loved the contract negotiation scenes the absolute most, and Tom Severin realizing he has feelings was a delight. Also, please sign me up for sexy train sex. Overall though this was fairly boring. When Tom and Cassandra weren't on page together I found myself losing interest and getting distracted. There is not a lot of external conflict, so if you are looking for a basically angst free they love each other and work it out romance, this is a perfect comfort read. CW: fatphobia, constant talk about how Cassandra's weight

Cassandra is the last in her family to remain single, but not because she has anything against marriage. On the contrary, she wants a home and family of her own but has one requirement of her husband: love. Men may offer for her because of her beauty and wealth, but they don't look beneath the surface to the woman inside and she's determined not to accept a traditional, 'surface' marriage. Tom Severin is more intelligent than most men, his brain always running five steps ahead of everyone else in business- a talent that has made him rich and powerful. But he doesn't know much about people, and even less about the heart. He's willing to give Cassandra everything she wants- except love. Can these opposites do more than attract, but find a way to be happy together? Cassandra may be willing to play by (most of) society's rules, but she refuses to lose herself and what is important to her as she navigates the Season's dangers. She's intelligent, curious, compassionate, and loving- a delightful combination of personality traits that men tend to ignore in favor of her appearance. Kleypas did a wonderful job switching up the expected trope: instead of a plain wallflower waiting to bloom, Cassandra is a beauty hoping to be seen for herself. Kleypas also addresses a form of body shaming with delicacy and tact: Cassandra is told because of how she looks, she's clearly "asking for" whatever a man wants to do to her. Fortunately, while she may question herself and believe this, she has a loving family who's more than willing to set her straight on the subject. Through them, she learns the difference between men and boys (other rather excellently descriptive phrases used by various Ravenel men can also be entered here). At first I worried that Tom was going to be too similar to Rhys Winterbourne (Marrying Winterbourne). While I love Rhys (he may be one of my favorite Kleypas heroes), something different was needed for Cassandra. I shouldn't have doubted Kleypas though. Tom may be a self-made man who is now rich and powerful, but that's about where his similarities to Rhys end. Tom is incredibly intelligent, but not necessarily when it comes to people. He prides himself on having only five emotions, believes that his own upbringing didn't affect who he is now, and is sure he is incapable of love because it isn't a real thing. Despite all that, he's a good person without knowing it. And his interpretations of the point of various novels are priceless. Chasing Cassandra can be read as a stand alone book, but other Ravenels and their spouses are key characters throughout the book, so if you've enjoyed the rest of the series you get to catch up with them. It was a fast-paced and entertaining, with Kleypas' usual excellent writing style drawing the reader right into Cassandra's world. An excellent new book reader's are sure to enjoy! I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Rating: 6/5 I have found my favorite read of 2020 and it's Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas. I devoured this book in just over a day and was not disappointed. Tom Severin has officially dethroned Rhys Winterborne as my favorite hero from The Ravenels series by Lisa Kleypas. I am strangely obsessed with nontraditional heroes, anti-heroes and the likes; and I was praying the LK would give Mr. Severin a book since his first appearance in The Ravenels series. I loved the pacing of this story, from the initial meeting between Tom and Cassandra, I knew they would be magic together. Every interaction between the two main characters left me with a smile. I absolutely loved the fact Tom, who honestly believed he was incapable of feeling, fell so obviously in love with Cassandra. This was evident in the fact that he always there for Cassandra, even after she initially rejected his proposal of a marriage of continence. Tom was a true hero to Cassandra in the aftermath of an attack and his story with Cassandra truly began. I should also mention that I love Cassandra, she and Pandora, will always be my favorite female characters in this series. She was so lovely and kind and all she ever wanted was a family of her very own to love. She initially refused to "settle" for Tom, but through their interactions learned that their was far more to Mr. Severin than met the eye. Cassandra particularly shined when she defended, not only Tom to her family - when they were more than hesitant in accepting their potential relationship, but also her right to chose her own destiny. The second half of the book was my favorite; the negotiation scene between Tom and Cassandra was hilarious and sweet, their subsequent marriage and the realization that they loved each other; all absolutely magical. A perfect romance, but what also could I expect from the queen of romance herself. I adored getting to see the other characters from this series - and even characters from my other favorite LK series, The Wallflowers - featured within Chasing Cassandra. It's like catching up with old friends. I truly hope Lisa Kleypas' next series features more of the offspring from The Wallflowers (a girl can dream, right?). Lisa Kleypas truly has a gift in her ability to transport us to other worlds and sweep us up in the magic and romance of it all. I love how Ms. Kleypas gives attention to the details of day to day life in the time period featured within all of her historical romance novels. I love reading fun facts throughout her story about specific locations, foods and traditions. Overall, Chasing Cassandra was magical and a wonderful conclusion to a wonderful series.

I received an ARC of this book to read in exchange for a fair review. Chasing Cassandra is the sixth book in Lisa Kleypas’s delightful The Ravenels series. You could read it as a stand-alone, but I’ve enjoyed reading the series immensely and recommend them all. Lady Cassandra Ravenel has just watched her beloved twin get married, and while she’s happy for her sister, she’s feeling just a bit left out and wondering if she will ever meet someone who loves her. Tom Severin, a wealthy businessman, has everything he could wish for, but something seems to be missing, and he’s not quite sure what it is until he spies Cassandra Ravenel, and every instinct he possesses says yes this, and he tells her I’ll be your Oyster. Their path to HEA is not a smooth one as Tom only acknowledges five feelings, love is not one of them, and Cassandra is not willing to settle for anything less. One of the things I liked most about their story is that he listens to her, and she understands instinctively what he’s not saying because to her, his actions speak as loudly as others words. The locked up tightly wound hero who learns to let go is one of my favourites and I relished every page of this book. Medium Steam. This was such an amazing story! Chasing Cassandra was incredibly entertaining and an absolute delight to read. I loved Tom and Cassandra, learning about them, and watching them grow and embrace their feelings. There were so many brilliant standout moments that had me smiling and rooting for them. It was fantastic! Since first meeting Tom Severin, I've been extremely curious about this unique man with the cold heart. I loved learning the ends and outs of him, what made him tick and what motivated him. He was so much more than he showed the world and so incredibly enamored by Cassandra upon meeting her. I loved his openness and pursuit of her and I also liked him fighting those feelings. Cassandra was a sweetheart who loved with her whole heart. I loved her openness and how determined she could be, holding out for what she truly wanted. I loved the challenge between them and when they started to open up and share. I was excited while reading and loved watching their flirtation and passion grow. There was a wonderful build to it all. I loved all the characters involved and seeing West and Phoebe again. The Ravenels are such a tight-knit group and I loved their protectiveness for Cassandra. They all had such great dialogue that was outright fun to read. There's one character, in particular, I absolutely adored and thought he brought so much to the story. He played into Toms's feelings of his past and I love how this character evolved in Tom and Cassandra’s life. I felt it was exceptionally touching. There was great attention to detail and I loved the flow of the story. I had a hard time finding a stopping place because I kept wanting more. There were just so many great moments. Entertaining. Emotional. Sweet. Heated. I loved them all! Lisa Kleypas knocked it out of the park! This story really resonated with me and I can’t begin to say enough good things!
