Former CIA officer Valerie Plame and Sarah Lovett, authors of the “tense spy thriller”* Blowback, return with a globe-hopping, nerve-shattering new novel featuring covert CIA ops officer Vanessa Pierson.

When Vanessa narrowly escapes a devastating explosion at the Louvre, she suspects the notorious nuclear arms dealer Bhoot was behind the attack. But after staking her career on capturing the madman, it seems a new and even greater threat has emerged.

A previously unknown militant group claims responsibility for the bombing and promises even greater carnage. Bhoot himself contacts Vanessa to confirm that a miniaturized nuclear device may have fallen into hands more dangerous than his own.

As Vanessa’s investigation leads her to the real terrorists’ plans, she finds herself drawn into a perilous alliance with one of the world’s most dangerous criminals—a man who has become her darkest obsession . . . and perhaps her savior.

I love espionage books and of course Valerie Plame would have the inside knowledge to make the details very edge-of-your-seat interesting. Remember that Valerie Plame herself was "outed as a CIA agent" by Bob Novak wasn't she? It is a shame when the Liberal press tries to interfere and slant rather than just report.

This was an ok book.  It did keep my interest but I sometimes have a hard time following espionage books.  The story was good and the ending was interesting and I will probably read the next one because this has a cliffhanger.  I received an ebook of this for a fair and honest opinion from the First to Read program.

Not quite as good as the one before, but good.. Prefer more time in the US in the next book. Look forward to the next.

Another home run for Plame and Lovett. If you Like the TV show "Homeland" you will love this book. From page one a suspense which just keeps building and makes you want to keep reading without stopping. Can't wait tosee how our hero gets out of this one. I want to see the movie.
