About the Author

RANDALL GREEN and JOE BENSEN have climbed together since 1979. Their climbing trips have taken them throughout the Cascades, to the Tetons, and, especially, to the Canadian Rockies and Bugaboos. They made their first trip together to the Bugaboos in 1980, and returned many summers since.
Although the number of routes in the Bugaboos seem too numerous to climb in a lifetime, Green has climbed many of them and pioneered several new ones. He lives in Helena, Montana. Joe Bensen tragically died in a climbing accident on Mount Ushba, Caucasus Range, July 2001.
