Overview

Marjorie Steel is still healing from the events of the past year, and she's happy to put her plans to study culinary arts on hold to help her best friend deal with a difficult pregnancy and two recently adopted troubled boys. The fact that Bryce Simpson spends a lot of time at the Steel Ranch is a benefit, and she's ready to see if her attraction to him might be something more.

Bryce wants to do a hard day's work on the ranch. Once his muscles give out and he collapses from exhaustion, maybe he'll stop torturing himself over his late father's horrific double life. The Steels have a different idea. They ask Bryce to take an executive position complete with a profit share. As he has a young son and widowed mother to support, it's an offer he can't refuse. The only catch is Marjorie. She's beautiful, smart, feisty, and her kisses set him on fire. But he's an empty shell with nothing to offer her, and she deserves the world.

As the sins of his father continue to haunt him, Bryce learns the horrors of the past may not yet be buried.

OMG Helen, you really outdid yourself again. Such a wonderful book. Marjorie Steel is the youngest of the Steels. She loves her brothers and their wives and the two boys that Talon and Jade adopted after the ordeal with their father. Bryce is Joe's best friend and is dealing with the fact that his father was a monster. When we were reading about Joe and Talon's wedding trip to Jamaica we noticed a little bit of sparks between Marj and Bryce. So naturally we were hoping for this book. Helen did not disappoint that is for sure. Bryce was looking for a job at the Steel ranch where the brothers did offer him a very good job. And because of the sparks between him and Marj, the baby sister of his best friend, he wanted to turn the job down but then he thought about his son and mother and knew he had to take it. However, he can't just walk away from Marj and he realized how much he cares for her and she is the same. But he still wants to walk away from her because he thinks she deserves better than him. I can't wait until the next one to come out

Breathless lives up to its name and was SO worth the wait! I've been dying for Marj's story ever since I started the series two years ago, and I cried (no joke) when Helen announced that she would be writing it.

Marjorie is still reeling from all the secrets that have come out regarding her family over the past year. She has put her culinary passion on hold to help her sister in law through a difficult pregnancy and the adoption of 2 troubled boys. Bryce has also had his world turned upside down because of the horrific things he learned about his father. He wants to try and bury himself in manual labor and forget his past. Marj has long had a thing for Bryce and would like to see where it leads, Bryce doesn’t feel he has anything to offer her at this time. After the hell they have been through will they ever get to just live a normal life? This is a series that grabbed me from book one and I inhaled the entire series. I was lucky enough to start this series just before book 9 released. At the time that was going to be the final book. So when it was announced that Breathless was being written I was so excited. Breathless is emotional and full of surprises. I wondered how the author would pick up the story and keep the level of intensity. Well Helen Hardt has done it again. She has added new twists and turns to Breathless to keep you reading. If you haven’t read the Steel Brothers Saga grab book one and enjoy.

Breathless is the start of Marj and Bryce's story, and let me tell you. It was an epic beginning. Marj and Bryce have known each other all their lives, they grew up together. Bryce was her older brothers best friend and he literally watches her grow up, from a small child into an amazing, stunning and smart woman that she is today. Marj grew up crushing on Bryce over the years and it only intensified as she got older.

Author repeats too much of what happened in the other books. This would have been a good story by it self. I think the excessive retelling was filler.
