Overview

Caught In A Trap

For Darlene Roberts, a quiet drive home from work turned out to be the end of the road when a stranded motorist flagged her down. As soon as she stopped, Darlene was forcibly dragged from her car and viciously thrown to the ground, bound with cords and tightly gagged. A second attacker stepped into the scene, a woman in a hood and a mask. . ..

Hunted Like An Animal

In the ensuing struggle, the woman's mask slipped off, revealing the face of Darlene's husband's ex-wife, Barbara Ann Roberts. Darlene broke away, running for her life. The couple pursued her across a field until they found her hiding in the grass. A shotgun was aimed--and fired--point blank. Later, Darlene was discovered floating in a pond. . .

Dead In The Water

Who fired the fatal shot? The bitter ex-wife? Or her lover and accomplice, millionaire neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Schiess III? Only one of them would be convicted of murder in this disturbingly twisted tale of lovers, cheaters, and killers in a small Alabama town. . .

About the Author

Sheila Johnson is the author of Blood Highway, Blood Lust, Blood Betrayal and Blood Ambush and the co-author (with Gary C. King) of Dead of Night. Her experience as a newspaper crime reporter created a natural transition into writing true crime books about some of the cases she covered, and the killers and victims she came to know. Her close working relationship with law enforcement has given her inside access to statements, case files, and testimony that she uses to create a clear overall picture of murderers and their victims, defense attorneys and prosecutors, and the dedicated investigators who work tirelessly to bring killers to justice. She lives in Alabama.

This book is extremely repetive. The author repeats the same information over and over and over and over again. Not much substance in this book. Don't waste your time or money. If the option of zero stars was available, this book would have definitely received it.

Hands down the worst True Crime book I've ever read. It's so bad I wonder how it was even published. Reading a timeline of the crime and trial would have been more interesting. Just shockingly bad and lazy writing. I'd give it negative stars if possible.
