A beautiful story about adoption—and how each child is a blessing.

Every night before she goes to sleep, a kangaroo prays under the stars for a baby to love and hold. One day, as she rests under a tree, a baby bird falls out of its crowded nest—plop!—right into her pouch!

Now, every night before they fall asleep, Momma-Roo and Little One thank God for all their blessings . . . but especially for each other.

The book closes with a quote from Ephesians 1:5: “In love he destined us for adoption to himself. . . .”

My grandparents have this book. I would say it's probably good for kids ages 3-5, but if you're older it can get kid of boring. I can read it in less than a minute and I'm eleven.

This is probably the best adoption book we own. Most books focus on how a married mother and father adopt an infant. I adopted a 4-year-old as a single mom, and most stories just don't apply to our family. This applies to all families. Best of all, it shows that both the adoptive mother and the birth mother love the child and are happy with the adoption and, best of all, so is the child. It sends a great message of love. We've given a copy to almost all of our friends who have formed their families through adoption.

This is a wonderful story about adoption. It is part of the Little Golden Books family of books and includes bible verses about children and adoption. It is the story of a kangaroo who adopts a little bird and despite their difference in appearance live happily as a family.

Of all the adoption books that I have bought and read to my children, this is by far my favorite! It is a beautiful book with the exact meaning behind how I felt when I wanted my very own baby!
