Not a bad book - good action and a likeable character. Some of the events are a bit tough to swallow but it is fiction after all.
Reminded me somewhat of Heinlein's "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" without all the lecturing & Mike. More action. Tightly written & interesting.
This book is about a good kid who got into gangs and got transported to the penal colony on Mars. The people on Mars, though, are working up to rebellion against the Earth government. It's a very good story, well told. I've read this book half-a-dozen times over the last 35 years and it still holds up completely. This book is not dated at all and matches current Mars info quite well. I hope to read it a few more times. Recommended.
Finally, some older titles are becoming available on the nook..Thank you, Dr. Pournelle! Solid plot, entertaining characters - well worth the price.
