This is a two-part set. There is a booklet and a set of flash cards to help you remember what sign you are teaching your child. They recommend the best age to start teaching your baby to sign is between 6 months (starting to have short and long term memory both) and 3 years (they should be starting to talk fairly well by then! Although it's never too late to start a child on a second langauge.)There are pictures and anecdotes, but this is primarily about the benefits of teaching your six-month old to sign and how to do it.

I am a speech therapist and I bought this for my nephew in July, by Febuary he had learned 5 or 6 signs and he is able to pick them up in about a day now! He is about a year old. He signs diaper when he needs a new one and the other day it snowed and he was staring out the window signing 'more' because he wanted to go back out to play! A fabulous book and it seems to be working for him!

my daughter-in law bought it for her 14 month old baby and he got so involved with the pictures and the colors. 1st sign he learned was 'more' and we just loved to see him do that

I was totally unaware of this discipline, until someone mentioned this book to me. I purchased it for my daughter, a new mother, and she just can't stop talking about it. She loves it, her friends love it and the baby seems to be having fun with it. All of this gushing on my part is second hand, because I can only relate my daughter's reactions to the book, but it seems like a perfect gift for any new parent. I'm looking forward to spending some time at my daughter's house so that I can spend some time with this wonderful book.

I received this book as a gift and I think it is amazing. It is well written, but not to complex, and has great stories and pictures. The flash cards are fun and easy to use. Overall the best book on baby sign language that I have seen.

very attractive book, the instruction cards have various diagrams that helps the child identify the signs. I am first time mom and I am a believer of baby signing, This book has very clear illustrations of the signs.

excellent... this book was recommended by a colleague of mine who takes her kid to signing classes. I found this book very easy to use because of the fun diagrams and the cards that are enclosed. Also, helps the child learn the colors . My daughter loved the illustrations and she learned a sign already... we're all having fun with it.

My wife bought it for our son. I was skepitical about the whole baby sign thing (a little to 'Meet the Fockers' for me), but now I am convinved. The book is well written and easy to use. It also comes with about 50 instructional cards which are great for teaching your child (and his or her's parents!). If you are looking for a book on baby signing, this the book to buy.
