Overview

After a hectic year, Edindale, Illinois, attorney Keli Milanni is ready to welcome autumn by counting her many blessings. But a case of murder could cause her to fall behind . . .

Keli is hoping that Mabon, the Wiccan Autumn Equinox, will bring balance back into her life. But it’s death that comes calling when she’s asked to consult on an estate case. Recently passed, Elaine Turnbull left everything, including her valuable art and antiques collection, to her granddaughter, Lana. But Lana has been missing for years, ever since a tragedy tore her family apart. Also missing may be Elaine’s most recent will. Then there’s the not-so-small detail that Elaine’s death by natural causes may not have been so natural after all . . .

With the help of her boyfriend Wes, who knew Lana in high school, Keli starts digging into Elaine’s past—and her journals. Soon she discovers that everyone, from Elaine’s caretaker to her curator, had a motive for murder—along with a seemingly rock-solid alibi. Between missing people, missing documents, a string of vandalism against her friends, and the sense she’s being stalked, Keli is feeling a disturbing chill. Now not even her Wiccan protection rituals may save her from a killer with a cold heart that’s far from grateful . . .

Autumn, Marbon, and Murder This book is a cross between cozy mystery, new age mysticism, and age-old witchery. It is a good mystery with a great and twisty plot. There are many moving pieces, lots of motives and many suspects. While the ending was surprising, it could have packed a bigger punch. I did enjoy the book. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

I love this series and think that each book is better than the previous, this one was no exception. I loved to meet again the cast of characters, read about their developments, and meet some new. This time we're left with a cliff hanger, not related to the mystery, and I hate to wait for the next book to know what will happen. The mystery was complex and very good, I had some doubt about the culprit but the solution came as a surprise. It was entertaining and engrossing and I read it in one setting. I look forward to reading the next instalment. Highly recommended! Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

"Autumn Alibi" is the 6th book in the "Wiccan Wheel Mystery" Series by Jennifer David Hesse. I own the first 3 books in the series but haven't got around to reading them, with that said I was able to read this as a stand alone. Now not even her Wiccan protection rituals may save her from a killer with a cold heart that’s far from grateful . . . I really enjoyed this story protagonist Keli is a likable, intelligent woman who is an attorney and also Wiccan. All of the characters in the book are well developed and interesting. The story was well paced, and I found I couldn’t put the book down. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep me wanting to find out what will happen next. The description of Mabon the Wiccan Autumn Equinix was great and I learnt something new which is always a bonus. I look forward to reading the next installment in this series I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from Kensington Publishing and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Title: Autumn Alibi Series: Wicca Wheel Mystery #6 Author: Jennifer David Hesse Genre: cozy mystery Rating: 5 After a hectic year, Edindale, Illinois, attorney Keli Milanni is ready to welcome autumn by counting her many blessings. Now not even her Wiccan protection rituals may save her from a killer with a cold heart that’s far from grateful My thoughts I want to say thanks to Steeped In Books ( a booktuber I watch) for talking about this one , that I went running to Netgalley as well as to the Kensington page there to see if they had it still and as soon as I say it I picked it up , in fact if I remember right its because of her that I picked up one other book they had, and other thing that mad me pick it up was the series title : Wicca Wheel Mystery series as well as the cover ,it just say fall is here. Another thing is even though I haven't read the others in this series but after reading this one I do , I found myself enjoying it a lot , and the characters there was times they had me smiling at what was going on. One thing I loved was how the main character Lana was a lawyer but she practice Wicca as well and that the author showed that Wicca was not only for blessing your surroundings but that it was all so the re blessing of the land and that it could also be used for protection . And the story itself was a well-crafted plot, with several suspects who are all suspicious, a few twists and turns and a finale that allowed all of the threads/clues to come together it was your playing the game Clue where your trying to figure out who doing it and why , which made this book even more fun to read, with that said I want to thank Netgalley for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.

Autumn Alibi is part of the Wiccan Wheel Mystery series but can definitely stand on its own. This has become one of my favorite series because I love the town and the characters. I can't wait for the next book!

I am new to this series but really loved it! Love the location, the main character and her friends. It’s nice to read a cozy and this is definitely a cozy, with a strong female lead who makes sense and doesn’t run around trying to crime-solve in a dither. I am going to go back and read the previous books in the series and I hope there will be more to follow. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.

Another good read that will get you in the mood for Fall and Halloween although I don't celebrate Halloween. I am beginning to love cozy mysteries and have really been enjoying this series. In this story there is a murder involved and it will make you keep guessing as to who it is! I thought the book well written and for the most part very entertaining. Great characters and an overall great read. As I've said before you'll want to be in your cozy place maybe with some pj's, robe the whole nine yards and with whatever you usually snack on. You're in for an interesting ride. My thanks to Netgalley. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.

Autumn Alibi by Jennifer David Hesse was another exciting addition to this series. I have enjoyed each book in this series as the mysteries are all intriguing and the characters are developing in a natural progression. Keli assists Crenshaw in this investigation and I enjoyed getting to know Crenshaw better. Farrah and Wes also join into the investigation which moved the mystery plot into other avenues that I hadn't considered. I was pleased to meet Arlen and I look forward to seeing more of him in the next book. A well-crafted plot, with several suspects who are all suspicious, a few twists and turns and a finale that allowed all of the threads/clues to come together. I was glad to see the secondary story line of Keli's stalker wrapped up in this one. She definitely was handling it much better than I would have. I appreciate the research that Ms. Hesse does for the Wicca religion to be presented in such a clear and relatable way throughout the story. I'm already looking forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Kensington via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.

Series: A Wiccan Wheel Mystery - Book 6 Author: Jennifer David Hesse Genre: Cozy Mystery/Paranormal/Witch Publisher: Kensington Books Page Count: 368 The much anticipated cozy book addition to the “A Wiccan Wheel Mystery” series from Kensington books hits stores on September 24th. Written by author Jennifer David Hesse, Autumn Alibi was worth the wait, (not that readers had to wait long, but it felt like it). The “A Wiccan Wheel Mystery” series is one of my favorites and has been from book one. Keli is a delightfully captivating character that if readers could meet in real life, they would admire and want to have as a best friend or neighbor, not to mention as their lawyer. Other characters are equally exciting and vital to the success of this cozy book and the series. I like the further element of Keli having a stalker, which adds intrigue to the murder mystery. Is the stalker after her, or is the stalker part of the murder? Although I figured out early in the book who the killer is, it did not diminish my enjoyment of the story or this cozy book overall. Most readers will enjoy the energy, the twists, and turns, and will cheer Keli on as she begins to unravel the mystery. The relationship between her and Wes takes another step towards commitment and happiness and will resonate with readers who are currently in a relationship that they want to grow. Its always thrilling for me to sit down with a cozy book, especially after a long hard day and in a grumpy mood and finish the book with a smile on my face. This is precisely what Autumn Alibi brings to readers, and I am happy to recommend this cozy and series to cozy readers everywhere.

I’ve been reading cozy mysteries a lot lately, probably because it’s my second favorite genre. I’ve read all the books in this series so far, this one being the sixth, and I think this one is my favorite of them. I have to admit that Keli’s character didn’t always win me over, but finally in this one she’s completely won me over. She seemed never true to herself, but finally she is. The book also has an interesting plot, and I wasn’t really sure who the culprit was because I kept changing my mind. I loved the minor changes that happened in this book (no spoilers!), and I’m hoping we’ll get to see more of the secondary characters, especially Arlen. He intrigues me. This is a great cozy mystery, and you should pick this one up if you like this genre. Highly recommend, and I was provided a copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Keli Milanni is ready for Mabon and is thankful to the Goddess for all she has. When she is asked by her former colleague to help with an estate he is working on, Keli finds herself immersed in a murder mystery. But will Keli be able o celebrate Mabon and be thank the Goddess for being able to solve the case. This is the first book I have read in this series and I was pleasantly surprised. There are a lot of cozy series that touch on Wicca and Paganism, but this felt much truer to a practitioner by the way the Keli practices and lives her life. So kudos on that. I look forward to reading the previous five books in the series and catching up.

What a mess! First Elaine, sadly, died, leaving everything to Lana, her granddaughter who is missing. Then it turns out that Elaine was actually murdered. Keli, an attorney and Wiccan, has been enlisted both help catalogue the estate but also find Lana, who was a high school classmate of her boyfriend Wes. Elaine, as it turns out, wasn't a particularly nice person so there's more afoot that Keli first thought. At the same time, she's prepping for Mabon, an important Wiccan holiday. I particularly like that this series incorporates Wicca in a serious way- not twee, not for amusement but for real. I learned something here. Keli's also being stalked, which might because of this estate or is it because of something else? No spoilers but know that this is an intelligent mystery with good characters and some fun twists. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. You'll be find with this as a standalone. I'm looking forward to the next one!

Autumn Alibi is book 6 in Jennifer David Hesse's Wiccan Wheel Mystery series, which is a series I have loved since I read the first one. Keli is an amazing main character, and I have really enjoyed watching her develop through this series. She is a character who has really grown into herself, and I think watching her grow has helped me grow more into myself as well. I really enjoy learning about the Wiccan religion. There are so many elements in it that are really nice. I loved learning about Mabon in this book. As someone who loves autumn, I appreciated a lot of the symbolic elements that Keli talked about. The mystery in this one was great. There were so many moving parts to it that I was definitely not sure until the killer was revealed who it was.All in all, this was a fantastic addition to the Wiccan Wheel Mystery series, and one you won't regret reading! Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC of this book!
