I have been a loyal reader of his fantasy fiction since the beginning and was becoming jaded with the same old writing whichever series I was reading and I thought some of the standalone books were not his best works. I was about to give up on Mr. Modesitt . Thankfully, he has produced a novel in the Imager series which is well worth the investment Quite simply the best that Mr. Modesitt has produced in years.

The Imager series has been a great series, this is a wonderful change as it comes from the view of a capable Rex who learns how to lead through the help of images of regular ilk with their ability to function through structure and discipline.
