Morgan Rice has created another great book in the Invasion Chronicles series! Kevin and Chloe brave the challenges of the alien world ship while trying to survive the Pure. The story makes for a suspenseful and exciting read. I received a free copy but my review is voluntary.

In the Invasion Chronicles 3_ Ascent, the plight of Kevin and Chloe seems to roll along as though caught in a stream of confusion and unwanted adventure. They seem to roll through the never-ending turmoil of being lost, in pain and now they have been kidnapped from Sedona and drawn to the larger alien vessel to be exposed to things they can't even guess how they will affect them and their lives. It's different, but exciting, avenue for Morgan Rice to present yet another world of excitement and sudden endings which leave a person wishing for the next volume. She delights in the suddenness of her stories – no time to relax is allowed. Yet you, the reader, knows she has that final statement about how the story ends. This is a new story in the Invasion Chronicles – and follows headlong rush into the meandering captivity of the two protagonists. Follow them through this volume and know you can't expect a next scene to loosen your nerves until the ending. Morgan Rice does not, nor ever has, provided a moment to catch your breath ! She has written 10 Series (some promising new stories - even today) and working on 4 more series. And so far, there are no breaks for you folks, including myself, trying to keep up. And, if you really like what you read on your own, she gives the first book of each series to you for free. - Crow

Let me first start with the fact that this is my first book in this series and maybe not the best way to start. Nevertheless,I was gripped by the start and decided to read on to find out what lay in store for the 2 groups battling it out against the same enemy. As an adult, it was sometimes hard to imagine that these are kids, and at other times this was quit obvious. I did find the changes between their behaviour on the alien ship a bit too black and white, there didn't seem to be much of a struggle, but maybe that is the writers intention. The book stopped very sudden, (I don't look at the progress while I'm reading) and leaves you guessing about what's next.

This is a great sequel to a long awaited seres. We get to see the evolvement of the characters and each chapter is just chocked full of action. There is never a dull moment and it keeps you turning to the next page to find out what happens next.

“Ascent” is a well written part three of the long story called “The Invasion Chronicles”. Every book of this story ends in the middle of a suspenseful situation and it makes you want to read the next book immediately. Unfortunately, this time we have to wait until 2019. The adventures of Kevin and his friends are very eventful and it is difficult to stop reading. The element of Science Fiction combined with Fantasy is used very well to create a thriller story.

Descriptive writing clearly creates a vision in the readers mind of the story. Great emotional character development, honest and insightful.

I'm loving this series because it is different from her other books. Most alien books, TV shows and movies are in the point of view of adults. It's nice to read from the point of young teens. And of couse they struggle harder than most adults would. But still they would do anything to survive. The only negative part is that the book is to short. Maybe next time not many books in a series but just 3 or 4 but with more pages?

Thrilling from the first line to the last. Leaves you on a cliff hanger wanting more. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Chapters were shorter than I expected though the plot and story did not suffer. Generally a good read and engrossing - would like to see a bit more development in the material though it is a book written primarily for young teens.

Morgan does it again. Captivating. Varying plotlines from different perspectives that seem to be drawing to meet for a dramatic conclusion. I especially like the way she is ties the eventual fate of the universe into a story line based on 13 and 14 year olds who seem to find the necessary thoughts, conclusions needed to get all survivors, adult or youth behind them. It is amazing how she can tie in a sense of camaraderie in a short time. Can't wait to see Book 4 Return. I feel I will be re-reading this series for quite some time to come.
