The year is 1855 and Queen Victoria is on the throne. In spite of a woman being the sovereign of a powerful country, male dominance is the norm; women have no legal rights and are considered inferior by their male counter parts. An age of innocence depicts the challenges laid upon spirited and forward thinking women of that era. Rosie Sutton is one of these women. Violated and controlled by her father, manipulated and used by her brother, and seemingly unimportant to her mother, Rosie decides she would like to venture out into the world, to become her own person, but her father has other ideas.
