Is she the answer to his dreams...or the person who will be forced to destroy them?
He's a farmer, dammit, not a bookkeeper
When Stetson Miller inherits his father's farm in Idaho, he's too focused on crops and yields to pay attention to the financial side of things. The next thing he knows, he's got a stack of unpaid bills, the bank is threatening to foreclose...and the auditor who's come to examine his accounts is the sexiest thing he's ever laid eyes on.
But she's a city girl, just like the last one who left him at the altar. He'll guard his heart – but he can't help wanting her.

She's checking him more ways than one
Jennifer Kendall doesn't mind a tough job, but the handsome Stetson is trouble of a different kind. When he isn't making her mad, he's filling her head with all sorts of forbidden fantasies.
The sparks between them fly even faster when the road washes out and Jennifer has to spend the night on the farm. But passion alone won't pay the bills. Can Jennifer find a way for Stetson to save his farm?
And if she can't, will he ever forgive her?

Accounting for Love is the first novel in the Long Valley world, although all books in the Long Valley world can be read as standalones. It has some strong language, and oh my, sexy times. Enjoy!

In March of 2018, this book was rewritten, reimagined, redone, and every other re-word you can imagine, all based on the original version that was released in October of 2016. I hope you love this reworked version as much as I do. ~Erin Wright

“YeeeWeeHahahahaeeeeeeeee!” This is such a beautiful and lovely romance cowboy style! I loved the interplay between Stetson, the cowboy, and Jennifer, the accountant. But I think my favorite character is Carmalita! For a dose of down hominess and love this is a great book to read!

Jennifer has to go to Stetson Miller's farm to do an audit to try to keep his farm out of foreclosure. Stetson believes she is just going to foreclosure. While she is working they discover their need for each other. Was nice story but needed to be developed more. joy943

This is the first novel I have read from this author. It was a refreshing, nicely written story. I did read it at one sitting as I could not wait for the ending. The romance was light but kept you humming!

Stetson Miller has a big problem. As the youngest Miller son he has aways been the baby of the family and his two older brothers do not respect him. Add to that, he was the only inheritor of the family farm and you have a scenario for trouble. To make things worse, even-though, Stetson is a very hard worker and knows how to run the farm, but he is no bookkeeper. He has managed to miss a very important balloon payment on a substantial loan to the bank. Jennifer Kendall is forensic accountant. She has been sent by the bank so see if she can find the money necessary to paid the loan and prevent foreclosure. Stetson misinterprets her purpose for the audit and takes an instant aversion to Jennifer. It is hate a first sight or is it? It would seem that there is major chemistry between our two antagonists. Jennifer would like nothing better than to save Stetson's farm and keep the bank from foreclosing but Jennifer's boss has another agenda and is pushing her to recommend foreclosure. Erin Wright has written a well thought out plot with believable characters who have real life problems to solve. This story is so much more than a simple romance and as such it is a thought provoking read that I found to be a real attention grabber. This is one book you are going to want to read.

This is not a story you want to start at night or you will be up very late not being able to put it down. Stetson is about to lose his farm when he doesn’t pay the bills, the bank is about to foreclose and is sending out an auditor to look over his books. He is not very thrilled until he meets the auditor add a flood that keeps her in his house you get to watch the sparks fly as these two butt head giving a very entertaining read. Once they get their act together they work together to try and save the ranch. I got so lost in this story I forgot the time and ending up being very tired the next day. I just could not put it down. This is the first book I have read by this author who is very talented and knows how to pull her reader in giving you a story you become very invested in. The characters are a delight with wonderful twists and turns that keeps you turning the pages. The plot is refreshing with wonderful twist that keeps you coming back for more. I really didn’t want this story to end. I loved the humor that make me laugh as these two go head to head falling in love what a delightful story. I highly recommend you pick this up and give the author a read you won’t be disappointed.

This is the first book I've read by Erin Wright, and I loved it! Jennifer and Stetson are both characters that you can relate to and care about. Both have been hurt before but are drawn to each other. I love Carmelita who is the housekeeper/cook. She's been with the family for a lot of years and is more family than employee, and is like a mom to Stetson. I definitely recommend this book, and can't wait to read the next one, Blizzard of Love! I received a copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily giving an honest review.

This was a fun quick read. Stetson thinks the worst of Jennifer when she comes to audit his books. She is used to this type of reception. The spark grows as they realize their attraction and give in. Jennifer is smart and knows things should not be happening the way they are but goes with her instincts. Stetson is adorable as a spoiled child, gentleman, and knight in shining armor. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and will look for more in the Long Valley series. I received a copy of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Jennifer is an accountant who works for a bank conducting audits to investigate if people can pay for their loan after failing to pay their checks. Stetson is a rancher and a farmer who fails from paying the check to the bank due to his father’s expenses during his illness. He just needs a little bit of time to fix everything. Sometimes the pain we feel is so deep into us that we are not able to see the things we have in front of us. That’s is what happens to Stetson; he has the solution to his problem just right in front of his nose, but he is unable to see it. I love Jennifer, so caring and professional trying to do her job even though Stetson gets into her nerves and at the same time, under her skin. I love Carmelita. She is so cute and smart and caring. She can see things immediately while it took a long time for others to see the same things.

Amazing rewrite of the original book. Lots of humor and wonderful characters. Tough issues are tackled - plight of farmers facing and missing loan payments, body shaming, loss of family, etc. The book is not heavy or preachy; the difficult issues are handled as part of the story as Jennifer, the auditor, searches for a way for Stetson to keep the family farm. I have read and loved all the books in the Long Valley series. Even though I had read the original book, I still could not put the new version down!

This is book one in the Long Valley series and it features Stetson and Jennifer. He is a stubborn, stubborn man with way too much pride. He’s really mean to her at first, considering what she was there for, but he is nothing compared to her ex. I absolutely loved watching Jennifer’s transformation and seeing her stand up for herself. This is a sweet and sizzling hot romance. The characters are great and the story line had good flow. The epilogue ended a little too abruptly though. I would have liked to experience Carmelita‘s reaction to what was happening. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series.

No one can write like Erin Wright. She never disappoints. This is a wonderful start to a series and I intend to read every one. I could not put it down until I was finished. The chemistry between Jennifer and Stetson was so Hot it almost burned the pages. This revamped version was better than the original. Highly recommend to everyone.

This was the first one I read of Erin Wright's Long Valley series - Stetson definitely had some rough edges and major defenses. Loved Jennifer and how she tried to help him despite his not so nice attitude, and definitely enjoyed the blooming of their relationship. Gave me the impetus to continue reading the series and I was not disappointed in the least.

Stetson Miller looked around at the extensive clutter in his deceased father’s office. He need to get this organized if he intended to save the farm! He had been given 31 days to bring the loan current or the bank would foreclose. Mumbling about what he would do to the low-down banker/thief who was coming, he ignored his housekeeper’s throat-clearing and finally turned around. Behind her was a woman sent by the bank, so he verbally attacked her too for her cowardly boss not coming here himself! In anger, he gave her a list of requirements on how this audit would be done, the hours, one sandwich for lunch, etc. He made it plain she was not getting any hospitality. He was so rude that Carmelita, the housekeeper, made it a point to reprimand him that evening. Jennifer Kendall began organizing the mass of papers into something that made sense as she began her audit. Stetson continued to be brusque, although Carmelita’s words helped a great deal. Jennifer asked him about the large amounts of money going into his personal checking account, and he told her it was to pay for his father’s chemo. The last treatment was why he didn’t have the money to make the loan payment. He ran out of the office, angry with himself for revealing so much to her. But it made Jennifer resolve to find a way to save his farm! At the end of the day, her boss called her, angry that she didn’t have a recommendation yet. He wanted that foreclosure to happen! He screamed that the Board wanted options – was foreclosure still an option? She responded, “Foreclosure is always an option,” just as Stetson stepped up on the porch and heard her! Devastated and angry, he stormed past her and even yelled at Carmelita. In tears and lost in strong emotions, Jennifer ran to her car and – as she sped off in the blinding rain and slick mud – she didn’t feel how her little car was sliding recklessly. Then she completely lost control as she went off the road! This book is a rewrite of the original story of the same name. The author did a fine job fleshing it out and matching it to her current writing style. The characters were very realistic and believable. Stetson had a great deal of pressure on him to be successful as the youngest of three sons. He didn’t want to go to his brothers for help, but he had been funding his dad’s treatments and could not stay on top of his current loan payment. His failure angered him and he took it out on Jennifer. The bank wanted the land for its own purposes and was pushing for foreclosure. Fortunately, Jennifer is an honest, caring person who is good at her job. She wants to find a way to make things right. But is what she finds enough to save the farm? The reader will enjoy following this story line with its twists and turns. Don’t miss this one!!
