Where does a moderately popular internet star who never leaves her house look for potential suitors? Online. Tinder, Bumble, Match.com, OkCupid—I tried them all. My thirty-one-year-old self clicked and swiped her little heart out, leading to more dates than I could count, and more disappointment than I was prepared for.

Maybe you can relate. Maybe you know all too well the perils of modern dating. But let's say, eventually, you meet someone. You think to yourself, "Wow, they're perfect! Take me off the market, put a ring on it, knock me up, the whole enchilada, because they are 'the one.'" Let's also say that they "feel the same way" about you. Your life starts to make sense! All the pain, heartbreak, and frustration from past failed relationships was worth it. Slow clap.

That's how I felt about Milos. He was from Europe, a doctor, wealthy, athletic. He had an accent and a dog. Milos was textbook marriage material.

For him it was "love at first sight," but for me, it was "anxiety on every date."

Something was telling me to run—but for two years, the only running I did was straight into his arms.

If only I would have listened.

This isn't a love story.

It's my story of survival.

About the Author

Brittani Louise Taylor is an actress, artist, influencer, and the nerdiest cool person you will ever meet. On Youtube alone, her videos have been viewed over 240 million times. She grew up with her nose in a book, and little did she know that someday she would be writing one of her very own. Or that it would be so dramatic, a true story, and pretty dang good, if you ask her.

Brittani also has a weakness for organic food, cycling, kittens, and she secretly dreams of one day becoming a contestant on The Bachelor. She also dabbles in sarcasm, is a kick-butt mother, and currently resides in Arizona surrounded by cactus.

Growing up I HATED reading books! Nothing kept me interested but with this one I couldn’t put it down! I was glued to it, and I never ever in a million years thought that would happen to me. Specially with reading a book! Once you start reading just beware... it’s a tough one to put down!??

This book will leave you absolutely speechless. Brittani explains everything in such detail, and It's sure to leave you with goosebumps. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is currently on dating sites. It's an eye opening story and goes to show that not everyone you meet is who they say they are.

I have been a fan of Brittani for many years. She has always been a bright, bubbly, positive person and after reading this book that I couldn’t put down, I see how strong and smart she is. I am blown away that someone can go through something as horrific as this and make it out the other side not totally crazy. If you are a victim of abuse or date online, please read this book. It’s insightful and inspiring.

I read this in just a few hour hours. This book was so dramatic and fast paced I hate to believe someone really lived through this.

As she pointed out at the end of the book, she had to suffer through the internet being cruel with gossip guesses about what happened. In this book she tells her story and it’s no where near close to what most people thought.

Eye opening to the dangers of verbal abuse. Brittani Louise Taylor articulates the dangers of letting someone have all of the control in relationships. She shows just how far a woman will go to protect her child and to regain her image of self worth.

This is one of those stories worth turning into a book. I am not disappointed at all. I am proud of Brittani for sharing, as I’ve been watching her on YouTube for about the past 10 years. This is a book I’ll be recommending to anyone. I laughed, cried, screamed at her in my head not to do this or that. But that’s what makes it a good book. Loved it. I can see myself re-reading this book multiple times.

I’ve been a fan of Brittani’s for what seems like forever, I watched this "love" story unfold and you truly never know what is going on when the camera is turned off and the doors are shut. I’m so incredibly proud of Brittani, Barbra and Rex for their strength and making it though this situation. I can’t wait to continue cheering Brittani on and seeing more of her happier journey unfold.

This brought me to tears! She is so strong with everything she went through. I read this whole book in 3 days. It would have been 2 but school and work got in the way!

So proud of her telling her story! I wish Brittani a lifetime of safety and happiness. When I have kids I will make sure they read this and I'm currently buying a copy for my impressionable sister who I worry about all the time. Don't give up on true love, it's out there, but like she says: do your research.

I’m glad that Brittani was able to get out of this relationship. I hope she finds a true partner that can not only heal her heart, but her mind as well. Being a new mother is one of hardest times of your life when you have a supportive partner, but when you don’t it becomes that much harder to navigate life as a new mother with a tiny new life relying on you for their every need. I can’t imagine the stress she was under during all of this. This is a good fast read that every young person should read before entering the scary dating world. Not to scare them, but to make them aware of what can happen, and warning signs to look for. I hope Brittani find her perfect partner and writes another book about her healing process.
