Reminded me of Nancy Drew & friends. Always getting into a tight spot going after the bad guys.

This is a cute short story with likeable characters. Quite a few issues with subject-verb agreement. No real depth to the story but enjoyable.

A short story about a young woman who runs a boutique bakery. She has competition from the big box bakery (Bakermatic) down the street and is having a hard time making ends meet. Then a food critic dies of food poisoning and Bakermatic tells everyone she did it. She decides to investigate herself.

This is a well written story with no dark corners. A bit of enjoyable storytelling that is great for a bit of relaxation on a busy day. I’ll probably read the set.

If you are looking for a foodie style cozy mystery, don't look here. Though the main character owns a bakery she seems to lack passion about food at all. Lots of rants about quality and organic and treating workers right, btw she has no employees. It was cute and sometimes funny in a slapstck kind of way, but there was little logic or depth to the story. The main character and slueth makes wild leaps of suspicion and seems to have no relationships with anyone other than her BFF. Just pass unless you are an avid cozy mystery reader looking to fill space between realeases of your favorite author.

After a disastrous day at the Food Street Fair with no customers and no sales, Racheal realizes that a food critic was found dead, poisoned by one of the foods from the fair. That’s really the last thing she needs. Not only is her new business failing, dying at the hands of corporate Bakermatic, and not only are the bills are piling up, but now she has to deal with the possibility that her cherry pie killed the victim? That is SO not good for business. Not to mention the fact that she’s a prime suspect and that she could possibly go to jail for murder. Great. Story was quick and easy.

A bad day at the office? How about a bad day the Belldale Annual Street Fair. Rachael Robinson has recently opened a bakery, “Rachaels Boutique Cakes” and she is doing the fair to drum up business. When someone dies after eating at her tent, Rachael must solve the mystery before it’s the death of her business. Can she solve the murder and save her business while dodging the local hunky Detective Jackson Whitaker? Interesting beginning to a new series!
