Country born and bred Miss Caledonia Johnston has come to London during the Silly Season, not to dance and flirt, and please her Mama by making an advantageous match. In fact, her parents don't even know she's there, which is probably a good thing, as she's fibbed her way to Mayfair to Wreak Revenge on a certain Mr. Noel Kinsey (and sees nothing wrong with that because, well, she's Callie, and she somehow believes she's rather invincible, with Right on her side).

Enter one Simon Roxbury, Viscount Brockton, surprising himself when he comes to Callie's aid...which infuriates her, but she'll find a way around him to complete her "mission." He seems nice enough, and his mother is a dear thing, so she agrees to be good...especially considering she'd almost shot the man.

Come along as amused friends interfere, simple plans twist themselves into hilarious knots, and True Love (currently hiding in the bushes, hoping to remain safe away from these two mis-matched schemers), takes a few chances of its own.

"Using wit and romance with a master's skill, Kasey Michaels aims for the heart and never misses." -- #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Nora Roberts

From the opening scene, I was engaged in this story. Callie is one of the funniest Regency romance characters that I have read about. There were so many humor filled and laugh out loud moments in this book. I wish I had a friend like Callie! We would be in so much trouble. In a case of mistaken identity, Simon is drawn into Callie's life. He's boring and proper. He truly was not prepared for her. Add his mother to the mix and that is when it really got interesting. All of the secondary characters including Lester and Simon's friends add much to the story. If you are looking for a Regency romance that will make you laugh and cheer wildly for the hero and heroine, this one is for you!

Kasey Michaels can deliver the laughs unlike any other author. Though less than perfect her characters are as unique as they come. The Bedeviled Viscount Brockton proves that in order to be lovable, one doesn't have to be perfect. Callie is eccentric, pushy and clueless but she is a heartbreaker anyway. Simon knows her oddities but finds comfort in her. She brings him out of his shell and forces him to relax by just being herself. He gives her the courage to listen to her heart while making her see how valuable she is to him. The positive message. The sweet characters and the simplistic delivery are enough to remind me why romance is my genre of choice.

This has an interesting storyline, intriguing characters and is highly entertaining. Simon is not the most likable, endearing or romantic man, but he is amusing. Callie is all spit and fire and intelligence. The dynamics between the characters is dramatic and funny. I feel so bad for Lester, he really is empty headed and easily led by Callie. I enjoy reading Kasey's books because of the humor, and this story didn't disappoint, it's very engaging and enjoyable. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my voluntary and honest opinion of it.
