About the Author
Joseph Conrad (1857-1924) grew up amid political unrest in Russian-occupied Poland. After twenty years at sea with the French and British merchant navies, he settled in England in 1894. Over the next three decades he revolutionized the English novel with books such as Typhoon, Nostromo, The Secret Agent, and especially Heart of Darkness, his best-known and most influential work.

Well, if one wants to live forever, don't read all.these "masterpieces"! Seriously, this is the best free deal around. I picked one to read first that I've never heard of: The Yellow Wallpaper. Odd, weird and compelling. Most titles are familiar and worth reading or rereading. Get this one for your bucket list!
The title is so funny to me because my goal is to read a list of classics before I die, & many of these are on that list. I loved the stories and the fact that most are as pertinent today as they were then.
