Overview

Connie Cox and Cris Evatt, the authors of Simply Organized have teamed up once again and created a new step-by-step guide to simplifying your life in only thirty days. Organized in a day-by-day format, the book offers simple steps which take in an hour or less to cut down on clutter. Each section is followed by instructions for more in-depth simplifying each area (one's workplace, closets, vacation, or errand routines, a cluttered mind, and more), and a tip checklist is included for readers interested in "maximum simplification." Written in an inspirational style and a clear, down-to-earth format, 30 Days To A Simpler Life contains adages, anecdotes, and quotes from philosophers, designers, psychologists, financial planners, and other experts. The authors also include a guide to related books, newsletters, and websites to further assist readers in reaching their goal of simpler living

I've noticed over the last year or so that my life has gotten increasingly complex and decreasingly pleasurable. This revolves around having more but enjoying less - material goods not family and friends. As a result, I've been on a real "simplify your life" kick lately. This was the fifth or sixth book I've read in the last 90 days on simplifying. Honestly, I was skeptical but the book was recommended in some review that I read somewhere. I was pleasantly surprised. This book is very straightforward. There are 30 exercises (to be done over 30 days) aimed at simplifying your life. The first two are pretty bogus but they are for getting the reader in the correct mindset. Then, we step into simplification gently with things like organizing and reducing clutter in some of your "junk drawers". It progresses into more complex issues like your finances and work all the while explaining the process in adequate detail. These are excellent exercises for organizing and simplifying your life and household. My wife and I put it to work almost immediately and made excellent progress the first weekend. I highly recommend it if you're looking to reduce the clutter in your life.

The best book on simplifying and decluttering i have ever read. Although it is a relatively thin book , i'd gone back and read sections of it over and over again.

I've read a lot of books on living a simpler life, but in my opinion, this is THE BOOK! Not a giant tome to wade through, it consists of short chapters on a variety of topics, from the philosophy of simple living, to wardrobe organization, getting a grip on finances, decorating, cooking, traveling, setting up a home office and lots more. There are suggestions for those who simply want their lives to run a little more smoothly, and additional ideas for hardcore simplifiers! The book validated many of my feelings and actions, and provided inspiration and ideas for the future. I keep going back to this book; it's a keeper.

This book was great for getting my life in shape. I am now very interested in minimalism, and hope to one day achieve that aspect. I have managed to remove much clutter from my life, and am a much happier person.

This is the most fabulous book for those who want to get organized! Each chapter contains an 'action step' - something you can do to get organized and simplify your life. Not all of the steps are applicable to every person, but most are extremely helpful. It's also helpful for a wide range of people - from highly organized people looking for a little help to extremely DISorganized people who are beyond help! A good kick in the pants for people like me who have trouble getting started.
