This new series is tantalizing, fresh and hypnotic. This is a great new series that rates up there with the BDB series from JRWard. I am hooked and can't wait for the next chapter (can't wait for Myne's book)

Bound by Night is the first book in a brand new series by Larissa Ione. It takes an interesting and very unconventional twist to the vampire/human story. Nicole Martin watched her family brutally murdered in a slave rebellion in her home. Now 20 years later she is given the reins to a company that thrives on the exploitation of vampires. Unhappy with many divisions of the company, Nicole sets in motion plans to dismantle controversial departments of her families business holdings. Many on the board are unhappy by this turn of events. Nicole finds herself framed for ordering 20 vampires to be “inhumanly” destroyed(murdered). Riker is a vampire and a member of the “wild” MoonBound Clan. Watching his mate die as a slave in the Martin family home has fueled his hatred for humans for years. When a situation with a rival vampire clan causes Riker to infiltrate the Martin home, he finds himself in a bit of a obtain his goal he must kidnap Nicole...when he'd rather just kill her. Now enemies are face to face and soon discover that they aren't much different. They are both fighting for their lives and their very survival lay in each other's hands. This is a great start to a new series.  Ione did what she does best...created totally new parallel environments with her dark and gritty world building...made great snarky and witty characters...fabulous secondary characters that you can't wait to uncover their stories... I am looking forward to reading more in what is sure to be a sexy and exciting new series. I received this ARC copy of Bound by Night from Pocket Books in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication September 24, 2013. It was an OK read for me as well.   It took about 35 pages before I could feel commited to continue, I almost gave up. I do love Ione's books, but this was very predictable for a new series.  You can read other reviews for the storyline. It does have interesting concepts, but overall the plotline (different but predictable) and characters (stereotypical) fell flat.  How many times did we have to  hear the internal dialogue of each character whining about their feelings and miscommunications?  I felt like I was in a bad romance novel. OK, we get it already....With Ione's extertise, you'd think she'd be able to come up with other conflicts for the characters to mull over.  It also seems like Hunter will be the next book, and then perhaps Myne.  Hunter wasn't interesting on any level, and Myne was only slightly more interesting.  This is not a good start for a new series I can wait to read.  This is not a series on my can't wait  until  the next one list.

Will try another one of the books. It's a good and enjoyable read though, I admit, the vampire backgrounds and so forth are not the "normal". Kept me interested!

I read a lot of vampire novels. Sometimes I get tired of the same old thing - a lot are the same type. This book was refreshingly different. Vampires enslaved by humans. Just different. Enjoyable read that I would definitely recommend. Thanks

This was about a person that believed one thing growing up because her father told her that and she lost her family when she was about eight years old. When Nicole Martin was Twenty-eight years old she works for the company that her father made try to make it so vampires better salves. When her family was killed so was one of the vampire salves that was with child. So the vampire that was the father of the child tried to get her and the child out of salverly but she died and Riker thought his child was too. Now would be the time to Buy the book and it would be worth it just to find out about the people in it. I will be getting more from this author. Thank you for writing books for us to read.

I am loving the new take that Larrissa has done with my vamps. It can be sad sometimes when you find a vamp book to read and it dont grab ya. But Larissa once again has shown me why she is the master at what she does.

Not her best work. There are some areas that feel a bit half done, like it lacks details for the first book in the series. Still one of my favorite authors.

To say that I am surprised that this is a great book is a complete and total lie! I have read every book in Larissa Iones Dominica series and have been patiently waiting for her next book to come out in December. I have received this book as an ARC from Netgally for my honest review. At 8 yrs old Nicole Martins life came crumbling down when her family is massacred during a rebellion her families vampire slaves. Barely making it out alive she has used the experience to help her focus on creating a vaccine against vampirism. Riker, a member of the wild vampire Moon Clan, has hated the Martin family for years because the Martins kept his wife as slave. When Riker tried to help her escape his wife and unborn child were killed. When the Moon clan finds out the Martin family has something they need or all hell will break loose; Riker will stop at nothing to get back what his clan needs. When you throw two wounded souls into situations were it boils down to help each other or die if you work alone Riker and Nicole know that it is a no brainer what the decision will be. Together Riker and Nicole do the unthinkable, but can they ignore the pull of the full moon, the pain of the past and the uncertainty of the future. The book is sexy, heartbreaking, and undeniably a great start to a new series. Great job Larissa Ione!

I just loved this book. There was so much suspense in every chapter. All the characters were great and the story was a real page-turner. I couldn't put it down. It was easy to read and I was sad when it was over. Starting the next one right now!

Great New Series! This is the first book a new series by Larissa Ione and I loved it! It has a great twist on the Vampire lore and what would REALLY happen if humans found out Vampires were real. It follows a woman whose family made billions on turning vampires into the perfect "servants". She paints a fairly realistic picture of how humanity as a whole has acted in the past and will in the future. Ms. Ione has done a good job with building a world with characters we are going to want to see more of.

Bound by Night  By Larissa Ione Bound by Night is a new twist on the urban legend of Vampires. It is a dark look into the human psyche, looking into the dark reaches of man mind and how they treat those different from themselves.  Vampires live among us, born as legend says from Native American tribes over 400 years before this book takes place.  The legend states that two warring chiefs killed each other and Crow and Raven fought over their dying bodies, creating the first vampires. But this is not the thrust of the story, humanities reaction to the growth and divergence of vampires has changed many things. First it was a threat, and then it was a desired ability or resource. Then the Martin family found it to be a trade, to trade in vampire slaves.  People that were captured and acquired that were vampires were considered a different breed. They could be defanged and used as slave labor, either as manual labor, for the home or business or for the sex trade. This monopoly gave the Martin family power. Power that corrupted like it always does.  Nichole is the surviving daughter of the Martin family. She had watcher her family die in a slave uprising that nearly claimed her life.  She survived because of the scientific development of a serum against vampirism.  But her body rejected the serum in strange ways. At her majority when she was beginning to find her way into the family business, things began to crumble. She was blamed for the deaths of vampires at one of her facilities, she was kidnapped. Both incidences brought her to the realization that she did not know what she was getting into. This is a great start to a series that may rewrite the whole idea, and mythos of the vampire genre. Bound by Night is a great story that will change how people look at vampire stories, and what our world is like.

A new series by Demonica author, Larissa Ione, is a great read that is more than just your usual flat romance/erotica novel.  I am a huge fan of her Demonica series, so when I seen she had a new novel out I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!   I received this ARC in exchange for a honest review.  Well, I can say I wasn't disappointed in the least and I can't wait to get the next novel in this series. This is the first novel in the MoonBound Clan Vampires Series.  Yes I said vampires.  Now, don't groan.  I know some of you are thinking oh yeah, just what I was waiting for yet another vampire novel.  Now I will agree, this particular genre has been a bit overdone especially since the Twilight/True Blood phenom.  But Ione has added an original twist to her vampire lore.  Ione has intertwined vampire lore and the Native American heritage in a way that is unique and very engaging.   In Bound by Night, there are no sparkly vampires or vampire night clubs.  Instead vampires are hunted and enslaved; seen as nothing more than animals fit only to serve humans.  Vampires are the new slave trade, and Nicole Martin's family has made a fortune selling and exploiting vampires.  That is until a slave rebellion changed Nicole's life forever.   Riker is a turned vampire.  Ex-military and commanding member of the MoonBound Clan, he hates humans.  His mate was taken and turned into a slave by the Martin family and he blames them for her death.  So when the opportunity arises to kidnap one of the last surviving Martins, who happens to be head of a vampire research company, he jumps at the chance.    The novel's characters are strong and engaging.  Each one has allowed their own prejudices to be the driving force behind their own lives.  But events force them to face their own preconceived notions throughout the course of the story.  One thing I enjoyed about this novel is that is Ione used paranormal romance to highlight greater societal issues.  The characters in this book are reluctant to believe the other isn't a horrible monster.  They are happy living in their own bubble of hatred and it isn't until they are forced to burst that bubble, to ensure their own survival, that they truly begin to challenge their own views.      The writing was well done.  The story moved at a pleasant pace, I never felt things were bogged down or moved too quickly.  The lemony scenes are tastefully done.  There is no slurping or squishy noises, honestly why do writers put those things in books?  This isn't a smut for the sake of smut kind of book, which have their place don't get me wrong.  The sex between the characters is important and serves as a turning point. I will go ahead and tell you, there is no cliffhanger but events are set in motion for the next book.  The next book is due out soon so you won't have long to wait for the next installment.  So happy reading!
