Walter M. Miller Jr. (1923 ¿ 1996) was an American science fiction writer. Today he is primarily known for A Canticle for Leibowitz, written in 1959, it is the only novel he published in his lifetime and won the Hugo Award for best novel. Prior to its publication he was a prolific writer of short stories.
